Three 14yo boys charged after teen, 15, allegedly glassed in the neck during fight at The Corso in Manly

Three 14-year-old boys have been charged after a teenager, 15, was allegedly glassed in the neck at a popular pedestrian mall on Sydney’s northern beaches. NSW Police said officers were called to The Corso in Manly at about 9.50pm on Wednesday, after reports of a fight involving a group of teens. When police arrived, they found a 15-year-old boy with a 6cm cut to his neck. “Police were told the boy had been assaulted by another boy who was allegedly armed with a glass bottle,” a NSW Police statement said. The teenager was treated at the scene outside the New Brighton Hotel, with staff and patrons reportedly assisting after the injury. A Toll rescue helicopter landed at nearby Balgowlah Oval, where a specialist aeromedical team joined paramedics in an ambulance to transport the boy by road to Sydney Children’s Hospital in a stable condition. Police established a crime scene at The Corso and soon arrested three 14-year-old boys a short distance away. They were taken to Manly Police Station and charged. One boy faces multiple charges, including reckless grievous bodily harm in company, assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company, and reckless wounding in company. He was refused bail and is due to appear in Children’s Court today. The second boy was charged with reckless grievous bodily harm in company and assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company. He was granted conditional bail and will appear in Children’s Court later this month. The third boy faces six charges, including stalking or intimidating with intent to cause fear or physical harm, hindering or resisting a police officer, intimidating a police officer, and trespassing. He was granted conditional bail and is due in children’s court in February.
