A second flight from Duabi has touched down at Sydney Airport.

The arrival comes one day after another Emirates plane flew in at the same time, carrying the first planeload of passengers from the Middle East since the start of the war.

IDF tells residents in Beirut’s southern suburbs to evacuate immediately

The IDF has issued an urgent alert to residents of Beirut, Lebanon’s southern suburbs telling them to evacuate their homes immediately, its Arabic-language spokesperson says.

“Attention, you are prohibited from heading south. Any southward movement could endanger your lives,” says Avichay Adraee.

The Israeli military has told residents in the Burj Al-Barajneh and Hadath neighbourhoods in the south of the Lebanese capital to move to the east.

IDF says new wave of Iranian missiles targeting country

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) says it has identified more missiles launched towards the country from Iran.

The BBC reported that in a post on social media it says defensive systems are working to intercept them and a warning has been sent to phones in relevant areas.

People who get an alert have been told to remain in a protected space until further notice.

More Aussies on way home from Dubai

Australia sent two military passenger planes to the Middle East earlier this week and six DFAT crisis response teams are on their way as the Government makes contingency plans to help people leave the war zone.

Two Emirates flights carrying Australians left Dubai on Thursday and an Etihad flight from Abu Dhabi was scheduled to depart later in the evening, all heading to Sydney.

A C-17A Globemaster and a KC-30A plane are now positioned in the area to help with potential repatriations, which may involve short hops to nearby places such as Saudi Arabia where commercial flights are still operating.
