The year will go out with a bang, fireworks and all, at the City of Albany’s New Year’s Eve Picnic and Fireworks at Anzac Peace Park.

On Monday, December 31, the park will become a hub of entertainment and activities for the entire family, with plenty of room to set up for the evening.

This year includes the inaugural yacht club ballet, where members of the Princess Royal Yacht Club will light up their vessels in the harbour.

A nine-hole mini-golf course, Jamie the Clown, DJ Nathan Young and Gertrude, giant lawn games and a photo booth from ACE Camera Club make the park the place to welcome in 2019.

City of Albany chief executive Andrew Sharpe encouraged everyone to gather together with a picnic and make their way down to the park.

“The New Year’s Eve fireworks event is always a safe, family-friendly event,” Mr Sharpe said.

“This past year has been a fantastic year for Albany and I’m looking forward to celebrating the year with the community.”

The fun kicks off from 4pm, with the yacht ballet starting at 8pm. Fireworks will follow at 9pm and midnight.

The evening is proudly supported by Act-Belong-Commit, Healthway, Lotterywest, Southern Ports Authority, Albany Advertiser, Fly FM and Gold MX.
