A car fire which torched a dual cab utility in Youngs Siding overnight causing $40,000 is being deemed as suspicious.

Denmark police are investigating the fire which began about 7pm near Hay River Bridge on South Coast Highway and spread to surrounding bush but was extinguished by eight crews 20 minutes later.

The ute and a boat trailer were damaged as a result.

A Department of Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said crews said volunteer crews from Young Siding, East Denmark, Denmark Volunteer Fire and Rescue and Bornholm were then called back to the scene the next morning after the fire flared at 4am.

It took firefighters another 40 minutes to quell the fire with crews monitoring the scene this morning.

Denmark police are calling for any witnesses to come forward by calling the station on 9848 0500.
