Polonia fought back from a two-goal first-half deficit to snatch a draw against Stirling Rangers in the Albany Junior Soccer Association under-18s competition on Saturday.

Stirling Rangers player Jordan White opened the scores early with a calmly-taken penalty after he was adjudged to have been tripped by a Polonia defender.

The score was all square at half-time and Polonia played with determination in the second half.

Polonia continued to grow into the game and their endeavours were rewarded late, first with a well-taken right-footed strike by Lachlan Tindale and then an equaliser scored by Logan Lionetti.

Neither side was able to add to their tally and had to settle for a point each after the game ended in a 2-all draw.

Albany Bayswater fought out a close 2-1 contest with Great Southern Griffins.

Bayswater got onto the score sheet first through Escher Nash but it was soon cancelled out by player of the match Sam Jeffery, who worked tirelessly for his team.

Scores were level 1-1 at half-time and Griffins had a couple of chances to get ahead at the beginning of the second but they fell just short.

Bayswater’s Nash bobbed up with the match winner and the strike was enough to see Albany Bayswater secure all three points and remain at the top of the table.

In the final under-18s game, John Calvin got off to a flyer, with Mitchell Postmus scoring a first-half hat-trick to give his side a comfortable 3-1 victory against Rovers Black.

The second half a close affair, with Lillian Cooper scoring the only goal of the second half to see her Rovers side get on the scoresheet.
