Search for missing man, 66, at The Gap

A search is underway at The Gap for a missing 66-year-old man.

Albany Police said around 5am on January 3 they were contacted by the man’s family, who said he was missing.

Police and Albany Volunteer Marine Rescue are currently searching the area.

It is believed he was driving a white BMW and may have been near The Gap around midnight, where his vehicle has been located.

The man, who has not been named, is fair-skinned, with a medium build and approximately 188cm tall with grey, balding hair.

He was last seen wearing shorts, a striped shirt and possibly thongs.

Anyone who saw the man or his vehicle in the vicinity of The Gap last night or this morning, or who has any information regarding his whereabouts, is asked to call police on 131 444.

The road leading to The Gap has been closed and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
