Police fine driver for dog at wheel
Police enforce and don’t condone drink driving, drug driving and now it seems dog driving.
Denmark police tweeted today a driver had been caught driving with their dog on their lap and fined $100 and lost one demerit point.
Denmark police officer in charge Sergeant Matt Hartfield said the infringement was issued by Great Southern Traffic Enforcement officers who were in the town.
He said police had received complaints about dog owners driving too and from beaches with dogs on their laps recently.
He said the infringement was a timely reminder for motorists to ensure their dogs are secure in their car.
