More grand final history will be created between Railways and Manypeaks as the two modern-day foes square off for the third time in the past four Albany Cricket Association A-grade seasons, in Saturday’s decider at Turf North.

After making ACA history last season with a fifth straight A-grade premiership, the Tigers will look to add more silverware to an already golden era as they chase six straight.

Peaks have suffered two recent grand final defeats at the hands of the Tigers, but are once again the side presented with the chance to end their sparkling dominance of the competition, which has extended to a 12-game winning streak this season.

The Tigers have three players chasing their maiden A-grade premiership, while Peaks have only three players remaining from their last title triumph in 2010-11.

Having been on the big stage so regularly in the past decade, Tigers captain Zane Marwick was adamant complacency was not an issue.

“There has been a lot of talk around the group that this is definitely the last time this 12 will play together,” Marwick said.

“That core five or six players, there is definitely going to be changes, so we want to enjoy the last chance we get to play together.

“For us it is all about the players that haven’t been lucky enough to win one, they’re our motivation to perform well.

“Sammy (Want) who missed out unluckily last year, Has (Nawaz) has come in and Mark Natale has also joined us.

“These players, there our motivation to perform well.”

The Tigers were emphatic second semifinal winners over Peaks last week and haven’t lost to their grand final opponents since round 11 last season.

Veteran Ryan Kinnear, all-rounder Warwick Durack and now captain Aran Tilbury are the members of Peaks 2010-11 premiership side when they were dramatic one-wicket winners in the final overs.

Tilbury said he was confident Peaks could bring their best and cause an upset in the game that mattered.

“They are obviously a decent outfit with a number of high-quality players that have stayed together over a period of time,” he said.

“Our guys are buoyed by the (preliminary final) it was good to bounce back and we showed more fight in our batting.

“We have to try and bring it on the main day.”

Tilbury believes his side simply need to execute their plans against the Tigers much better than they have previously to challenge for the cup.

Harry Broomhall (276 runs) and Durack (213) loom as key players for Peaks with the bat, the latter scoring a match winning 55 in the preliminary final win over Mt Barker on Sunday.

Manypeaks and Railways will name unchanged 12-man teams from their respective finals games last weekend, and with the threat of rain in the days leading up to and on Saturday, the rain-out date on Sunday might be required.
