Muttonbird Beach facilities stolen by vandals

Albany Advertiser

The City of Albany is calling for information from the public after vandals defaced and stole items from Muttonbird Beach facilities recently.

Recently installed toilet facilities were vandalised while a water tank, sink and a door were among the items stolen which has left a damage bill in excess of $5000.

City executive director of works and services Matthew Thomson said it was disappointing given the recent upgrades as part of the Muttonbird Improvement Plan.

“The City works hard to provide quality facilities to our community, to see them damaged within one month of installation is incredibly frustrating,” he said.

“The incident has been reported, anyone with information regarding the incident is encouraged to contact the City of Albany or local police.”
