Albany Netball Association representative Jenny Cristinelli has been recognised for her outstanding participation in netball in Albany and the Great Southern.

Cristinelli received the 2019 Coach Achievement Award at the Jill McIntosh Medal in Perth last Saturday.

Cristinelli, who coaches Grammar A1 in the local competition, was nominated for the award by ANA development officer Rosemary Wolter.

She has been a coaches’ mentor at the Great Southern Grammar Netball Club and the association.

“The award was unexpected so being nominated firstly by ANA was an honour in itself,” Cristinelli said.

“Being given the coach achievement award by Netball WA was overwhelming, just knowing there are so many coaches striving to develop athletes.”

Cristinelli works full-time in Katanning and travels to Albany a few times a week to coach players.

“Being able to give back keeps me going,” she said. “The knowledge I have learnt over the many years coaching — for me, it’s my love to pass on that knowledge.”
