Classy four-year-old Zetorio has bounced back to form, recording his first win in more than a year for the Roy Rogers stable at Mt Barker last week.

Racing second-up on Friday after a disappointing showing in Albany a fortnight ago, Zetorio settled at the rear of the small field before coming wide around the home turn.

Zetorio levelled with leader Universal Warrior at the 200m mark, the pair going stride for stride to the line, but hoop Jordan Turner was able to get Zetorio’s head down on the line and claim the Viv Taylor Handicap (1100m) by 0.1 lengths.

Turner made it a winning double in race three when Foxy Princess grabbed pacemaker Swanky Lass in the last stride to win the Paddy Knapp Handicap (1200m) by 0.3 lengths.

It was back-to-back wins for Foxy Princess, who settled second-last before storming home to salute for Albany trainer Annette Crump.

Steve Wolfe brought up his second winner of the local season after Sir Snuaglot won the Bill Pearse Handicap (1200m).

Sir Snugalot sprang out of the gates before handing the lead up to Abu Dhabi. Natasha Faithfull came off heels to level up with the leader in the straight, prevailing by 0.4 lengths in the close finish.

Albany trainer Paul Hunter also tasted success on the seven-race card — Prince Friar impressed with a bold second-up victory in the last race with local rider Casey Hunter aboard.
