A 16-year-old child has been charged after a serious assault in Albany’s centre.

A juvenile male was charged with assault occasioning bodily harm over an incident on York Street in the early hours of Saturday March 24.

Albany Police allege the juvenile threw a man to the ground and kicked him in the head, knocking him unconscious.

The victim required medical attention.

The juvenile has been released on protective bail conditions and is due to appear in the Children’s Court in Albany at a later date.
