Albany man charged with murder of woman in 70s at aged-care facility

An Albany man has been charged with the murder of an elderly woman at a Great Southern aged-care facility.

The 19-year-old man from the Albany suburb of Orana was working at the centre when the alleged murder took place on November 28.

Homicide squad detectives arrested and charged the man on December 23 after they were alerted to the death.

He has been charged with one count of murder and will appear in Perth Magistrates Court via video link on Christmas Eve.
