Albany duo aim for WACA final opportunity

Albany Advertiser

Albany cricketers Nathan Crudeli and Zane Marwick will have the opportunity to play on the WACA ground on Sunday when they represent the Country XI in the finals of the Statewide Twenty20 competition.

After a disappointing Australian Country Cricket Championships in Geraldton, which yielded only three wins from 10 matches, the Country XI will reform for the revamped competition, which will begin at the semifinal stage.

The Country XI will vie for the title with WACA Premier Cricket T20 winners Wanneroo, the WA Indigenous XI and WA Suburban Turf Cricket Association.

The squad will take on WASTCA at Fletcher Park in their semifinal at noon, with the final at the WACA Ground on Sunday under lights from 5.30pm.

Railways pair Marwick and Crudeli retain their place in the 12-man squad, which will be led by former Royals all-rounder Tim Hutchison, who now plays in the Peel Cricket Association.
