Albany Classic 2023: Everything you need to know ahead of Around the Houses

With thousand expected to flock to the centre of Albany on Sunday for the Around the Houses Albany Classic, there will plenty to see and do, but also road closures to be wary of.

Official proceedings will kick off bright and early for a first track inspection and driver briefings from 7am, before opening proceedings — including a welcome to country and blessing of the cars — take place from 7.40am.

Competitors will take to the track for practice from 8.15am to 9.10am and parade laps will be conducted from 9.25am.

There will be four main race events spread throughout the day, taking place from 9.40am to 10.55am , 11.10am to 12.25pm, 12.50pm to 2.05pm and 2.10pm to 4pm.

Car displays and markets will be set up on York Street between Grey Street and Peels Place and festival activities including food vans will be set up in the Alison Hartman Gardens.

Road closures will impact Serpentine Road and Serpentine Road East, Aberdeen Street, Peels Place, Frederick Street, Collie Street, York Street, Grey Street West and East, Earl Street, Vancouver Street, Hotchin Avenue and Hanney Place for 24 hours from 10pm on Saturday.
