New beginner-friendly camera drone DJI Lito 1 weighs 249g, flies for 36 minutes on one battery charge, and costs from $539.
It’s something for photography and videography-minded travellers to consider.
Along with its slightly more tricked-up partner the Lito X1 (from $619), the Lito 1 offers good quality aerial photography and omni-directional obstacle sensing.
The Lito 1 has a 1/2” CMOS 48MP sensor and the Lito X1 gets a 1/1.3” 48MP CMOS sensor.
Both have intelligent filming tools, such as ActiveTrack, QuickShots, MasterShots, Hyperlapse and Panorama. That “smartness, reduces the learning curve for drone first-timers.
A spokesperson for DJI says: “The Lito Series features a multi-layered safety system designed with beginners in mind. The built-in omnidirectional vision system actively avoids obstacles like cliffs and walls, allowing creators to focus on the joy of flying from take-off to landing.”
Lito X1 takes this a step further, with forward-facing LiDAR for what the designers call “highly precise perception in complex environments”. LiDAR is “light detection and ranging” — a remote sensing method that uses pulsed laser light to measure distances.

Lito 1 has an f/1.8 aperture to capture up to 8K-resolution photos and 4K-resolution video.
Lito X1 has an f/1.7 aperture, for HDR video recordings with up to 14 stops of dynamic range and 10-Bit D-Log M.
The drones have wind resistance up to 10.7 m/s. This helps them to fly and hover in windy conditions.
They have QuickTransfer, enabling files to be transferred up to 50MB/s via wi-fi.
DJI Lito 1 retails for $539. With the Fly More Combo it is $779. The Fly More Combo (DJI RC-N3) has the drone, three “Intelligent Flight Batteries”, a two-way charging hub, shoulder bag and extra propellers.
DJI Lito X1 retails for $619, and the Fly More Combo is $1069.
