Frozen rhymes in form and function cutting across styles and periods, from Neo-Gothic and Internationalist to Art Deco, Modernism and the buildings of today.

Fabulous frescoes evolving into gritty street art in Hosier Lane, Stevenson Lane Caledonian Lane and elsewhere. Large-scale portraits, enormous snaking arms entwining each other on the walls of buildings.

It’s the art and architecture capital of Australia. Now luxury travel company Abercrombie & Kent has added Melbourne to its collection of exclusive small-group escapes.

Art historian and curator Kenneth Park leads a tour revealing some of the city’s most important landmarks and their cultural significance. Melbourne’s architectural diversity is on show as the CBD arcades and alleyways are explored with their eclectic boutiques, cafes, specialty stores and vibrant street art.

Guests are invited into the private gallery spaces of Bromley & Co and Justin Art House Museum where some of Australia’s finest contemporary art is exhibited and where there’s an opportunity to meet the curators and creative collaborators responsible for them.
