GWS recruit Matt Flynn has been handed West Coast’s No.25 jumper that was worn with distinction by retiring captain Shannon Hurn.

Just days after the Eagles announced that number one draft pick Harley Reid would inherit Nic Naitanui’s No.9, West Coast have announced the rest of the guernseys for their new players.

Hawthorn recruit Tyler Brockman has received No.10, Archer Reid will don the No.22, Harvey Johnston has taken over No.24, Clay Hall will wear No.29 while Loch Rawlinson and Coen Livingstone will run out in No.36 and No.39 respectively.

West Coast had earlier revealed that Noah Long would move from No.44 to take over Luke Shuey’s vacated No.13.

Naitanui, Hurn and Shuey’s guernseys were always going to be highly sought after.

Hurn captained the club to the 2018 premiership and played 333 games. Flynn wore No.30 at GWS but will step straight into the No.25 in blue and gold.

Shuey was captain last season and won the Norm Smith Medal. He handed his jumper over to Long at the end of the season.

Naitanui’s No.9 was also worn by Ben Cousins, making it an incredibly significant number in the club’s history. Giving that jumper to Reid will continue the legacy of high profile players wearing the number.
