Harley Reid and Scott Pendlebury have lit the fuse at the MCG as the two milestone men wasted no time in getting stuck into each other.

The 50th gamer lined straight up on the record breaker and showed him no regard for the occasion as he dumped a huge fend-off on the Collingwood champion, sending him tumbling to the turf in the opening seconds.

Reid had lined him up at the stoppage and gave him a few words of advice before bursting away to send the Eagles deep inside 50 with Elliot Yeo kicking the opening goal of the game a few plays later.

“I reckon he didn’t enjoy that,” Garry Lyon said on commentary.

“It was a great fend, but I don’t reckon he needed to do it, he just saw Pendlebury and ran at him just to prove that he could do it,” Jason Dunstall added.

However, the Pies champion got his own back only minutes later as he lined up the No.9 with a huge hip and shoulder inside 50.

Reid received a handball on the boundary inside the Eagles’ 50, and Pendlebury lowered his body to send Reid over the line to force a throw-in.

The carry on didn’t stop there as both sides engaged in a melee with Reid and Pendlebury once again involved before they eventually separated.

The young Eagles gun was then involved in a scuffle with Pies hardman Brayden Maynard after a tough tackle.
