Hensman Park’s women’s outfit continues to keep the Tennis West State League competition at arm’s length, seeing off a spirited challenge from Peppermint Grove to stay undefeated.

It came despite Peppermint Grove’s Talia Gibson continuing her stunning start to the summer, with Australia’s top-ranked 17-year-old remaining perfect on the season with a 6-4 6-3 win over Anja Dokic.

But Gibson ultimately lacked support as Hensman Park prevailed four rubbers to two, repeating the dose from earlier in the season to hand Peppermint Grove their second loss.

After Peppermint Grove’s Ruby Broadbent produced a 2-6 6-2 10-7 upset of Ksenja Vujacic, it was all Hensman from there as Ella Nurkic and Hayley Burton produced singles wins and the visitors snared both doubles rubbers.

Elsewhere in the women’s competition, Alexander Park defeated Greenwood 5-1 and Royal Kings Park beat Cottesloe by the same margin.

The Alexander Park men’s line-up got the better of Dalkeith 4-2, while Cottesloe (5-1 over Mt Lawley) and Royal Kings Park (4-1 over UWA) also saluted.
