Rafael Nadal is one win away from a record 21st grand slam title after resisting a fightback from seventh seed Matteo Berrettini in their Australian Open semi-final.

The Spanish veteran tore his Italian opponent apart in the first two sets but had to steady in order to complete the 6-3 6-2 3-6 6-3 victory on Friday.

Nadal will meet either Daniil Medvedev or Stefanos Tsitsipas in Sunday’s final, which will be the 2009 Open champion’s sixth decider at Melbourne Park.
