Reynolds already making impact at Broncos
Part of him wishes he'd just leave him alone but Brisbane forward Pat Carrigan is in no doubt Adam Reynolds will be a massive recruit for the NRL club.
While Reynolds has made a habit of annoying Carrigan at every opportunity at Red Hill, the 23-year-old can already feel the excitement within the group following the veteran halfback's arrival.
Officially the ex-South Sydney captain is on leave until December 17 but his enthusiasm and commitment to making his Broncos move a success was evident as he joined training on a wet Friday morning.
"I wish he'd go away, he's been coming to training just watching us," Carrigan said.
"He's a punish. Everything you can think of, just tripping you over, pushing you.
"Every time we've had a promo together to be honest he always wants to drive and then all he does is annoy me in the car trip too.
"But he's a quality person and in terms of just getting it, he's got great relationships with the boys already.
"When you're a team and get on and things get a bit hard in the back end of games it makes it easier to turn up for someone and dig deeper to try and get a result."
Despite having only been a Bronco for weeks, Reynolds is widely tipped to succeed the retired Alex Glenn as captain.
Carrigan, who has led the Broncos in Glenn's absence on the field in the past two years, is certainly in no doubt about the 31-year-old's leadership credentials.
"He's a class player and a quality person," said Carrigan, who knocked back a tempting offer from Wayne Bennett and the Dolphins to ink a contract extension with the Broncos earlier this week.
"That's probably one of the big things that the club wanted to get, obviously a big name, but someone who is genuine and who cares about footy and the younger guys himself.
"I've already seen the influence he's had here on the group and even outside the locker room, the vibe that he brings, the excitement.
"I know he's going to do wonders for this club."
