South Fremantle product Matthew Parker will follow in the footsteps of ex-Bulldogs teammate Marlion Pickett when he makes his club debut for Richmond tomorrow night.

The 25-year-old was picked up by the Tigers with pick 10 in the mid-season draft after a stellar start to the year in the WAFL.

Pickett, now a two-time premiership player, was recruited by Richmond in the same draft two years earlier.

Parker will run out for his 20th AFL game against the Brisbane on Friday night, having featured for St Kilda on 19 occasions across two seasons before being delisted at the end of last year.

Richmond were set to host the Lions at the MCG, but Victoria’s snap lockdown means the AFL will likely move the fixture to Queensland.

Fellow mid-season recruit Connor West is also a strong chance to make his AFL debut for West Coast against the Crows in Adelaide this weekend.

The West Perth product was taken at pick 25 by the Eagles and has been a consistent performer for their WAFL team.

The hard-running midfielder is pushing for AFL selection with a game-high 33 disposals, six inside 50s and five tackles against Swan Districts on Saturday.

West Coast will name their official team later today.
