Bargain-priced filly Lady Jadore shaped as a goldmine for owner-trainer Annie Belton when brilliantly winning tonight’s $100,000 2YO Fillies Sales Classic Final (1730m) at Gloucester Park.

Bought for $5000 at a Perth yearling sale, the $1.32 favourite coasted home more than 3m ahead of stablemate Adore Me Some More ($5) and Benesari Lane ($20) ran third.

Belton said Lady Jadore would be set for a series of WA two-year-old races, culminating in the $125,000 Golden Slipper Pace.

The bay has won each of her three races and collected more than $70,000 of prizemoney.

Belton paid a total of $45,000 for Lady Jadore and Adore Me Some More. The pair earned $76,000 when landing the quinella.

“Lady Jadore cost $5000 and Adore Me Some More $40,000 at the local sale 12 months ago,” Belton said.

“It appears Lady Jadore is special and I’ll reserve her for feature events.

“Adore Me Some More will benefit a lot from tonight’s race and she’ll be a big improver.”

Lady Jadore’s reinsman Aldo Cortopassi said he knew early that the bay would be outstanding.

“She had speed and did nothing wrong from the first time I drove her in education,” Cortopassi said. “All credit for Annie and her husband Colin, who put so much work into their horses.”

Cortopassi took Lady Jadore to the lead after 200m and she went on to rate 1:57.1.

Young reinsman Dylan Egerton-Green later maintained a run of big-race success when he drove Talks Up A Storm to win the $100,000 2YO Colts and Geldings Sales Classic Final (1730m).

Egerton-Green, who won last month’s WA Pacing Cup with Mighty Conqueror, took Talks Up A Storm ($4) straight to the lead and he was never headed.

Breaking a race record by rating 1:56.2, he scored a 7m victory from Rock On The Beach ($31) and Rich American ($6) ran a close third.

The Murray Lindau-trained Talks Up A Storm, who cost $22,000 as a yearling, has won each of his two races.

“Murray made slight changes to the horse’s gear after his debut and he paced smoother tonight,” Egerton-Green said.

The race record was previously held by Its Rock And Roll, who rated 1:56.6 in 2018.
