De'Aaron Fox had 22 points and eight rebounds, Stephon Castle added 20 points and San Antonio increased their winning streak to 11 with a 118-99 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers, while playing without Victor Wembanyama.

Wembanyama was given his second night off since January 6 to rest lingering ankle soreness, and the Spurs improved to 27-2 since February 1 and 59-18 overall.

Kawhi Leonard scored 24 points and Bennedict Mathurin added 18 as the Clippers (39-38) lost their second consecutive game to follow a five-match winning streak.

San Antonio still trail Oklahoma City by two games in the Western Conference standings with five games remaining before playoffs, after the Thunder beat the LA Lakers 139-96.

Reigning league MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 28 points for the hosts in a contest in which NBA leading scorer Luka Doncic left due to a hamstring injury in the third quarter.

Doncic had scored at least 40 points in five of his previous seven games, but finished with just 12 against OKC's suffocating defence.
