West Australian Storm Sanders and American Caroline Dolehide have made another grand slam doubles quarter final after a comprehensive straight-sets win in the third round of the Australian Open.

The ninth-seeds were too strong for Ukrainians Dayana Yastremska and Marta Kostyuk, claiming a 6-4 6-4 victory in 108 minutes.

It was yet another strong performance from Sanders and Dolehide, who are set to take on top seeds Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova in the quarter finals.

Sanders and Dolehide made the semifinals at Wimbledon last year, before going down in three sets to Russians Elena Vesnina and Veronika Kudermetova.

Ebden, who reached last year’s Australian Open doubles quarter finals, and Purcell upset the 13th seeds in South Africa’s Raven Klaasen and Japan’s Ben McLachlan 7-6(3) 6-3 at Kia Arena on Monday.

It wasn’t all easy going though, with the pair forced to save three break points in Ebden’s final service game, but they held strong to get the win in 89 minutes.

“The last game was a tricky one,” Ebden told tennis.com.au.

“But we held our composure, stayed strong and got it done. So we’re super happy.”

They will now take on 10th seeds Wesley Koolhof of the Netherlands and Neal Skupski of the United Kingdom on Tuesday, with the duo on an 11-match winning streak.

“I’m really fortunate to have Matty take me under his wing on the doubles court and hopefully we can take it further this week,” Purcell said.
