Troubled Eagle Ben Cousins has set the internet alight amid his looming return to Perth’s glitterati for tomorrow’s Brownlow Medal count.

The former West Coast captain is clearly buzzing for tomorrow’s Optus Stadium glamorous event, showing off a beaming smile as he poses with his tailor in Subiaco.

Cousins cut a healthy and sophisticated figure in a classic grey suit with a navy tie and white shirt while he posed alongside Suit Vault’s Jarred Briotti, who has also dressed Fremantle Dockers Luke Ryan, Dean Darcy and Darcy Tucker for the night.

Cousins’ long locks and beard are gone and instead he is clean shaved and sporting a neat crew cut.

Mr Briotti, who posed proudly with the star on his Instagram page confirmed he had been introduced to Cousins by a mutual friend and, amid recent return to the spotlight, he was tasked with making him look the part for the Brownlow.

“Ben was keen to come in and get suited up,” Mr Briotti said.

“We were both stoked with the result and he mentioned it had been a while since he had worn a suit.”

When the picture was shared to social media, Cousins drew attention from his old footy mates, as well as his army of fans who were thrilled to see his preparations to join the AFL’s glitterati tomorrow.

Former West Coast legend Andrew Embley was clearly pleased to see his mate back on the social scene, replying to the picture captioned “Cuz” with the hashtag #sharp.

Wentworth actress Daniielle Alexis also gave her tick of approval.

“Oh he lookin cute!” she wrote.

Brownlow medallists are always invited to attend the count in Melbourne, and commemorate their place in history by gathering in a private room with other winners during the night.

Cousins, who won the Brownlow Medal in 2005, accepted an invitation to attend tomorrow night and is expected to receive a huge welcome from the football community.

He has a standing invitation to the ceremony each year but hasn’t attended since retiring in 2010 amid his long battle with addiction.

The 43-year-old has been playing amateur football for Queens Park, attending AFL games and speaking openly about his life at functions across Perth.

Cousins, who has been working in scaffolding, has already booked several more functions and television appearances in the lead-up to next week’s grand final as he works to re-enter football life.

He made a major return to the spotlight at the 2008 Brownlow Medal when he attended with his mum, Stephanie, while completing a 12-month ban from the AFL.
