Update: AFL legend Mark ‘Bomber’ Thompson has dismissed allegations he threw an associate into the boot of a car.

According to 7NEWS, police were called to Yarraville on Tuesday when Thompson was involved in a bizarre fight with someone he knew.

Witnesses reported seeing Thompson throw a person in the boot of a car, with police called to the scene.

“When police responded, both parties refused to cooperate or give a statement,” 7NEWS reporter Cassie Zervos revealed.

But the premiership player, captain and coach laughed off those claims.

“I’m fine mate, I never got into a fight,” Thompson told the Herald Sun.

“I went to get the money and we had a bit of an argument.

“We went for a drive and then I dropped him off home later, and he never came out of the boot, I know that.

“It’s overblown — I couldn’t get him in the boot, he probably wouldn’t fit in my boot.”

Thompson said he’d know the man for years and he was a friend.

It’s the latest drama for the former Bombers coach who last year admitting taking drugs after a raid on his Port Melbourne home in 2018.

It was during that court hearing Thompson revealed that his pain over the Essendon drug saga, and said it led him to ice and a bizarre friendship with a bikie.

He admitting taking drugs, including methamphetamine, but refuted allegations he sold them.

The former star said he had been smoking a gram of ice a week after leaving the AFL in “a bad way”.

Trafficking charges were later dismissed and Thompson was fined $3000 and placed on a community order.

The allegations against Thompson come just weeks after ex-North Melbourne coach Dean Laidley was released on bail on a string of charges including stalking.

Ex-Eagle Laidley allegedly “bombarded” a woman with almost 50 phone calls in a single day and threatened to run her over in his car.

Following his arrest on May 4, police allegedly found 0.43grams of methamphetamine hidden inside a bra Laidley was wearing at the time.

Laidley will be back in court next month.
