Why is Emmanuel Macron wearing sunglasses? French President reveals health issue

French President Emmanuel Macron has been rocking the aviator sunglasses while in Davos, Switzerland, but the reason behind the unconventional style choice is not fashion.
Mr Macron, who is currently in his last possible term as French President, has worn sunglasses to multiple events in January.
Images of Mr Macron at Davos, looking like a movie star promoting a film, went viral after his first appearance at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
Images have circulated of Mr Macron without his sunglasses, showing his right eye filled with blood.

Speaking candidly a few days ago, Mr Macron revealed he is suffering from a health issue that is affecting one of his eyes.
“Please pardon the unsightly appearance of my eye. It is, of course, something completely harmless,” he said at a troop inspection in France.
“Simply see an unintentional reference to the ‘Eye of the Tiger’ ... For those who catch the reference, it is a sign of determination,” he joked with the crowd.
At another meeting in Paris, Mr Macron again apologised for rocking the shades, adding: “I am obliged to wear them for a while.”
“So you are going to have to put up with me like this.”
Online, it appears that social media users are very happy to put up with Mr Macron in polarised aviator sunglasses.
Many suggested he should wear them all the time.
“Waiting for Trump to start wearing reflective sunglasses in his pressers... you know he’s jealous,” one person joked.
Another suggested he looked like The Fonz.
