Prime Minister Scott Morrison was cut down to size this morning when he was blasted by an angry homeowner for standing on his freshly-seeded grass.

Mr Morrison, Treasurer Josh Frydenberg and Housing Minister Michael Sukkar were in Googong outside of Canberra to announce the new HomeBuilder Federal Goverment grants of $25,000 for building a home or renovating an existing property.

Mid-way through his early morning press conference Mr Morrison was told to move off a Googong resident’s grassy patch.

“Can everyone get off the grass please,” the resident shouted at the Prime Minister and the accompanying media pack.

“Hey guys I’ve just re-seeded that.”

The Prime Minister then directed the media to “please get off the thing”.

“Sorry man,” the resident then said to the PM.

“It’s all good, thanks,” Mr Morrison said back with a thumbs up and then carried on with his commentary on the scheme.

The incident was going viral online following this morning’s press conference.

“I think ‘angry man’ telling Scott Morrison to get off the grass" is just a metaphor for Australian politics at the moment,” one Twitter user posted.

Sky News Canberra bureau chief Thomas O’Brien described it as “Peak Dad areas”.
