Shanika Louise Williams: 26-year-old had home detention reinstated by magistrate before removing ankle monitor

A 26-year-old woman accused of 45 offences, such as stealing, assault and breaching a barring notice, remains on the run after she cut off her ankle bracelet while on home detention bail. Shanika Louise Williams cut off her ankle monitoring device two days before Christmas, prompting the Rapid Apprehension Squad to begin looking for her. It is understood Ms Williams had her home detention bail reinstated with conditions during an appearance in Armadale Magistrates Court on December 12. On December 23, at about 1pm, she allegedly cut off her ankle monitoring bracelet. It is understood Ms Williams was accused of 45 offences when she was granted home detention bail by a magistrate. Of those offences, she had already entered guilty pleas to 17 stealing charges. WA police spokesman said investigators believed she frequented the Thornlie, Gosnells and Rockingham areas. “Ms Williams is described as being approximately 160cm tall, of solid build, with brown hair and green eyes. She has tattoos on her left shoulder and right arm,” he said. “If sighted, members of the public are advised not to approach Ms Williams, but to contact police immediately on 131 444.”
