A major search involving police aircraft is underway for a missing camper who reportedly ventured into bushland and failed to return to his friends on Friday night.

Kel Say, 32, was last seen about 10pm when he was camping with friends in bushland near Kinsella Road, close to Albany Highway, in Ashendon.

WA Police said he reportedly walked in a westerly direction but failed to return.

“Kel was last seen wearing a blue jacket, brown pants and walking boots, and carrying a small navy backpack,” a spokesperson said.

“A number of police resources, including a police aircraft, have been sent to the area to assist with the search.”

Police urge any motorists on Albany Highway and Kinsella Road to remain vigilant. Any sightings of Mr Say should be reported to police on 131 444.
