Emergency services have rushed to the scene of a crash on a major Perth highway, with traffic banked up and at a standstill ahead of peak hour chaos.
The crash occurred on Stirling Highway northbound near Pamment Street in North Fremantle just before 2pm.
The left lane is blocked off and has caused heavy congestion in the area.
Main Roads said the incident affect services on the Fremantle Line.
Towing and emergency services were on site and worked quickly to clear up the crash.
Traffic is slow on approach and drivers are being urged to proceed with caution around the Fremantle area.
It has since been cleared and the Fremantle Line has reopened and is currently operating with restricted services.
