Peak-hour commuter chaos is unfolding as “technical issues” cancel services on the Mandurah line and causes major delays across the network, including on the Yanchep line.
Crews are working to resolve the issue, a Perth Transport Authority spokesperson said.
Train replacement buses are being organised between Cockburn Central and Elizabeth Quay.
There has been no indication of replacement buses on the Yanchep line.
PTA has issued an apology for the carnage that is unfolding across the city as a result.
“Delays are expected and we apologise for the inconvenience. Please refer to the Transperth website for more information,” it said.
The PTA later told 6PR radio it was a “rail car-related issue” with a listener describing the issue “pretty ordinary”.
Travellers can check the list of alternative bus routes or use the JourneyPlanner.
More to come.
