TikTok star eessavibe breaks down describing mother’s Covid-19 infection
An Australian TikTok star from western Sydney has broken down in tears while describing the pain of watching his mother suffer through Covid-19.
Eessa Abdallah posted a video to his popular TikTok account @eessavibe detailing how his mother was not doing well with the virus after Mr Abdallah had recovered from Covid himself.
Mr Abdallah urged his 318,000 followers to take Covid-19 seriously while tears streamed down his face.
“I just wanted to say, this is just for everyone to just know how serious this disease is,” he said.
“And please take it serious because little things such as making a video tires me out.
“You know like I feel like I'm not myself, and even though I am getting better, it's just really mentally draining and it’s really physically draining.
“Also my mum. She just won’t get better.
“So I know us western Sydney people don't like to listen but this is so serious. And we need to take it seriously because it’s a real disease. And it’s hurting people.”
Before that video, the TikTok creator video logged a diary of himself suffering through daily symptoms of Covid-19.
He described having a “mental breakdown” due to the virus, which began to make him “really sick” after six days.
He also filmed NSW Health staff coming to his home, dressed in personal protective equipment, for a standard breathing check-up.
“Day seven of Covid, and I’m not going to lie to you I’ve been tired today, but I ate like a f---ing pig and that is an accomplishment,” Mr Abdallah said. “I think I’m slowly getting my appetite back, so f--k you, corona.”
Mr Abdallah then films himself from a hospital bed wearing a white gown and mask.
“Here’s an update, I’m in the hospital,” he said. “I couldn’t breathe, I just had a random episode.”
NSW Health has been contacted for comment.
