West Coast may have a massive clash against Collingwood at Optus Stadium next week for the club’s Impact Round — but that’s not the only reason they’re fired up.
The Eagles are using the August 9 match against the Pies as a donation drive for Telethon and are calling on blue and yellow supporters to help fill a “virtual” stadium to raise funds.
The Take Your Seat for WA Kids campaign — which takes inspiration from the likes of the McGrath Foundation’s Pink Seat program — will officially launch on Wednesday, with 2025 Telethon star Jordan Blair making the announcement with some of his West Coast heroes.
Every seat in the virtual stadium can be personalised with the purchaser’s name, and are on sale for $20 or $10 for children, with $50 family blocks, $200 entire rows and $2000 corporate boxes also for sale.
West Coast co-captain Liam Duggan urged supporters to dig deep.
“We’re trying to sell as many virtual seats as we can so it would be great for the WA community to get around Telethon, for people to reach in and find any donation they can,” he said.
Jordan, who will be on field to toss the coin with other former Telethon Stars for the clash, said he couldn’t wait for the day.
“We are so excited to be tossing the coin for the Telethon game. We hope to raise lots of money,” Jordan said.
Tickets go on sale at noon from at donate.wce.com.au and the AFL club will match any seat purchase donations for the first 24 hours, with all proceeds supporting Telethon.
Donations help fund life-changing research, equipment, programs and support services for sick and vulnerable children across WA.
