Waroona artist shares her creation as part of a new exhibition

A Waroona artist will be displaying her latest creation as part of a new exhibition.
Llynnette Neil will be one of more than 10 artists featuring their work in the exhibition Radical Futures: The Quiet Between, held at the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre.
Curated by Jo Wood and Lotte Waters, the exhibition explores the Bindjareb and Wilman Boodja (Peel Region), and its margins of growth and belonging.
Thrilled to be participating, Neil said the exhibition displayed a good insight into the quality of artists in the area.
“It’s a great opportunity to exhibit our works,” she said.
“They are good quality and I’m very excited to have been invited to be part of this.”
Neil said she had created a triptych art piece portraying the Peel region titled Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow.
“Panel one is about before colonisation . . . a time of ecological richness and cultural harmony,” she said.
“The second one is about human impact and environmental disruption, and it’s about the post-industrial present.
“The third one Tomorrow is reversal restoration and renewal and today is actively reversed through restoration and collective stewardship.
“All about replanting and wetland and river back restoration.”
For those wanting to attend the exhibition, Neil said it would be fantastic and include some ‘divergent ideas’ from ‘top notch artists’.
As part of the exhibition, artist talks will also be held at 2pm on Saturday, February 14 and Sunday, March 8.
The exhibition will be open from February 13 until March 20.
