Investing in Collie is set to become easier than ever, with a new prospectus set to showcase the town to the world as it continues its transition away from the mining industry.

The new prospectus continues the roll-out of the State Government’s Just Transition Plan for Collie in a bid to diversify its economy and support workers and the community through the shift.

Details of new projects and projects that are already under way will be easily accessible for investors both in Australia and overseas.

The prospectus will include investment opportunities in the manufacturing sector, energy intensive industry, future clean energy and primary industries, including agribusiness.

The launch follows the announcement of another $20 million added to the Collie Industry Attraction and Development Fund announced in the recent State budget.

Regional development minister Alannah MacTiernan said the new prospectus will help the town continue to attract new companies to the area.

“We’ve already had success in attracting major new companies and industries to Collie as part of the town’s transition and this prospectus will help continue that work,” she said.

“Collie’s skilled resident workforce and excellent community, transport and energy infrastructure make it an ideal investment destination.”

She also said there was scope for the State Government to support new investors.

“There are opportunities outlined in the Collie investment prospectus for funding support by the McGowan Government through the Collie Industry Attraction and Development Fund and the Collie Futures Industry Development Fund to assist developers of new projects,” Ms MacTiernan said.

Collie-Preston MLA Jodie Hanns said she was pleased to see the continued support for Collie’s transition from the State Government.

“Collie is already attracting new sectors and this document will help to continue diversifying Collie’s economy with further job-rich industry sectors of the future,” she said.

“The McGowan Government has backed up its support of Collie by taking action on the ground to help develop a diversified economy that will be able to support the community for generations to come.”
