A property expert has revealed the huge costs of disgraced former prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s new home and why the 66-year-old may be reunited with his ex-wife sooner than originally thought.
Mr Mountbatten-Windsor was first booted from the Royal Lodge back in early February, months after King Charles II stripped him of his princely title.
He was cast out to Wood Farm on Sandringham, but that was only his temporary home before moving to his permanent place of exile, Marsh Farm.
Mr Mountbatten-Windsor is understood to have spent his first night at Marsh on Easter Monday, following weeks of renovations which included the installation of a new security fence, CCTV systems, carpet, and satellite TV.
The CEO of We Buy Any Home, Elliot Castle, told The Mirror that the cost of upgrading the five-bedroom farmhouse could set the royals back six-figures.
“From a property perspective, this looks far more like a managed family arrangement than a typical move,” he told the outlet.
“Marsh Farm appears to have been prepared specifically for Andrew, with privacy and security front of mind, so it’s unlikely to be a short-term stop.”
Mr Castle added that “once you factor in interiors, structural updates and high-end security, costs can quickly run into the six-figure range.
“Renovating a rural property to that standard is not cheap.”
Considering Mr Mountbatten-Windsor’s ex-wife Sarah Ferguson “has no where else to go” according to an inside source, Mr Castle believes “it wouldn’t be unusual” for the pair to reunite at Marsh Farm.
“As for Sarah Ferguson, it wouldn’t be unusual from a property standpoint for former partners to share a living arrangement, especially where security and routine are involved. Whether she joins him is personal, but it’s certainly feasible,” he shared.
“Her ability to live there would depend on the nature of Andrew’s occupation and whether consent is required.”
After more than 200 days out of public view, Ms Ferguson was finally spotted at a luxury Alpine ski resort in Austria where she is believed to be staying.
An inside source told The Sun, “Sarah lost her home when she was evicted from Royal Lodge and has nowhere else to go.
“She’s not invited to go to Sandringham to live with Andrew and even her two daughters have kept their distance.
“She is alone but staying in a luxurious setting and is very comfortable. She rarely wants to go outside because she knows what could be waiting for her.”
Ms Ferguson has been urged to provide evidence to Congress regarding her “close personal and business ties” to Epstein, who died in prison in 2019. She has not publicly responded to those calls.
