Staff reporterAlbany Advertiser

Several suburbs in Albany and the Great Southern were left without power on Monday due to unplanned outages.

Homes in Albany were left without power on Monday morning caused by a bird strike to the network at 9.35am.

A Western Power spokesperson said crews responded shortly after and the bulk of the 3700 customers impacted were restored by 11.45am.

The last three customers had power restored by 12.30pm following repair works.

Later on Monday at approximately 6.15pm, a feeder trip occurred disrupting power to about 3000 customers.

The cause was unknown and following an inspection of the line, all customers were restored by 6.45pm.
