The return of a beloved South West art experience is only a few weeks away, with the event’s official launch taking place this week.
The 13th annual Margaret River Region Open Studios was officially launched in Perth at Linton and Kay Galleries Cottesloe at the weekend and the 2026 event guides are now available.
This year the event, running from September 12 to 27, has 155 artists taking part, with 33 of those taking part for the first time.
MRROS chair Jacquie Happ said the event’s artists were in creative mode over winter, sprucing up their working studios for when spring arrives.
“Visitors experience a breadth and range of artistic expressions across the region from Busselton to Yallingup and Dunsborough, down through Cowaramup to Margaret River and Augusta,” she said.
“It’s also an important opportunity for artists, sharing themselves and their practice, and seeing their creative pieces going to new homes across the country.
“Pick up or download a copy of our new event guide and peruse the pages for art that catches your eye. Plan a self-drive journey down back roads and gravel tracks to discover studios in corners of the region you may never have explored, and perhaps bring home a painting, sculpture, wearable art or pottery piece to enjoy for years to come.”
