Heavy rainfall causes road closures

Several roads have been closed due to flash flooding.

A flood warning has just been issued for Chester Pass Road.

Chester Pass road is closed to light vehicles both directions from Amelup.

The road is closed to light vehicles due to water over the road with access permitted to trucks and 4x4 vehicles only.

A detour via Formby Road South and Broomehill -Jerramungup Road is in place.

Drivers are urged to use extreme caution and drive to the conditions.

South Coast Highway is also closed to light vehicles both directions between Mettler Road and Gnowellen Road.

Detour via Chester Pass Road, Formby Road South and Gnowangerup-Jerramungup Road is in place.

Rain is forecast for much of the week in Albany with possible thunderstorms on Thursday.
