The Geraldton Triathlon Club will race at St Georges Beach on Sunday for the Revolutions Club Championship Series race four.

The Wakelam family have been in strong form lately, with Amy and Petrina coming in first and second in the female all-ages category at last Sunday’s St Georges Shuffle.

Scott Dennett has also been in strong form and topped the men’s division last weekend, finishing more than a second ahead of Russell Browne and Simon Teakle.

The club will be hoping for more perfect conditions after the last event served up flat water, allowing the athletes to clock fast times over all three legs.

Chris Cooper, Andrew Blackburn and Jeff Peacock proved why they are club life members last weekend.

In a show of club spirit, Cooper helped a triathlete get her bike sorted before her first race, while Blackburn and Peacock did a quick repair on a fellow competitor’s bike so they would avoid a no-finish.

Blackburn is also reigning short-course champion and will be hoping to defend his title this season.

The club have also put a call out for members who are keen to race at the Busselton 100, including first-timers.

“The Busso 100 is only 13 weeks away and if you have been thinking of trying it for the first time but don’t know where to start, there is still time,” the club said on social media.

The race will be held on April 30 as part of the Busselton Festival of Triathlon.

It is the Triathlon WA State long course championships and an interclub series race that earns Triathlete of The Year and Conference Champion or Overall Champion Club points.
