Finery firm favourite with cup day revellers

Albany revellers will frock up in their finest to watch the race that stops the nation today.

Pubs, homes and workplaces across the city will stop for the Melbourne Cup at noon.

The White Star Hotel, Due South, Six Degrees, Hybla and Three Anchors are among venues hosting events for one of the most-watched sporting events in Australia each year.

Six Degrees will be decked out from 10am until late for punters to watch the race with live music and coverage, champagne and aperitifs, and an afterparty.

The current favourite for the race is Marmelo at $8 with Tabtouch in the field of 23 runners.
