Colour Dash fun for youth

Talitha WolfeAlbany Advertiser

The summer holidays are set to end in a flash of colour at the inaugural Albany Colour Dash.

The Colour Dash will comprised several obstacles and colour stations along the way.

The January 28 event will kick off from 5pm at the PCYC on Sanford Road.

City of Albany senior community development officer Tammy Flett said the event was sparked by last year’s City of Albany youth survey.

“This is one of the things (young people) asked for,” she said.

“It’s engaging youth in a positive activity ... it’s a great way to end school holidays.”

The Colour Dash is open to young people aged 12-25.

“This is something the older youth category can enjoy,” Ms Flett said.

“If it is successful, we might look at doing a larger scale event to a larger age group.”

The event will end with after-party entertainment at the PCYC.

Tickets cost $25 and sales close tomorrow.
