Albany rockers The Numbats host fundraiser for Albany Women's Centre

Albany folk-rock band The Numbats will fill the Stirling Club with live music from across the decades on Friday night to raise money for the Albany Women’s Centre. The local band have partnered with LBK Entertainment to host a concert to raise vital funds for women and children escaping domestic violence. “It’s a cause we all think deserves as much help as possible,” The Numbats’ Tom Edwards said. “Too often women and children are victims of physical and emotional abuse in Australia and WA, the women’s centre offers refuge for people in those terrible situations. “It’s a crucial organisation and we’re hoping to get as many people as possible along on Friday to help support them and enjoy some local music.” LBK’s Leonie Field said it was a gig for a good cause. “The idea is to have local music supporting local charities, which is great for the town,” she said. “We want to make it somewhere people could go, of our generation, that didn’t want to go to the pubs but would also enjoy local bands.” Doors will open at 7.30pm with tickets on entry.
