The search is on for the winner of a $10 million Oz Lotto jackpot winning ticket sold at an Albany news agency.

The multimillion-dollar winning ticket from Tuesday’s draw was the only division one winning ticket from across the nation and was sold at Clark’s Newsagency at York Street.

However, the lucky winner has yet to claim their prize at the time of print and Clark’s Newsagency owner Greg Hopkins is still searching for the person.

“As far as I know, nobody has claimed the prize yet,” he said.

“So I’m not sure if it’s a local ticket or not.”

The news comes as a surprise to Mr Hopkins, who said the newsagency had not sold a winning ticket for more than a year.

“I was just telling someone a week ago that it’s good to have a couple of dry runs because it means we will have a big one coming. And we did,” he said.

“The last big one we had was the $5 million Powerball, which was around three years ago.”

In the past 10 years, Albany has had 13 division one Lotto winning tickets worth more than $24 million in prizes combined.

Clark’s Newsagency has sold seven of those division one Lotto tickets, totalling more than $18 million in prizes, while Dog Rock Newsagency has sold two totalling more than $2.8 million.

Tuesday night’s $10 million Oz Lotto prize is the first division one ticket sold in Albany so far this year and is the equal second-largest prize sold in WA this year.
