Confronting CCTV has captured the moment a cyclist was thrown into the air by a car during an alleged hit-and-run on a Maddington street.
Armadale Detectives charged a 30-year-old Brookdale man after he allegedly used a Ford Focus hatchback to smash into 43-year-old man on a bicycle about 12.15pm on Sunday.
The shocking incident unfolded on Pitchford Avenue, with nearby residents telling 7NEWS how the accused driver returned to the scene after the incident — but this time as a passenger in another car.
One resident said the man appeared to be trying to “get the bumper back” which had disconnected from the car during the crash. Neighbours said they recognised the man back at the scene before they alerted police.
The cyclist was pictured motionless in the footage after he was struck by the car. He was later transported to Royal Perth Hospital by ambulance.
