
A woman asleep when her home was taken over by fire has made a lucky escape from the blaze.
Fire tore through the top floor unit on Swanbourne Street in Fremantle just after 1.30am Wednesday.

Witnesses reported seeing angry plumes of smoke surging out of the property’s balcony.
The occupant, a woman in her 30s, was taken to Fiona Stanley Hospital where she is being treated for smoke inhalation.
The fire’s cause was accidental.
