A shocking video has given an insight into what caused a fatal crash on the Mitchell Freeway on Sunday.
Dashcam video, obtained by 7NEWS, shows the moment a white Nissan Patrol hit the concrete barrier while driving northbound near the Powis Street exit causing the car to lose control.
The impact sends the 4WD flipping at least 10 times and narrowly missing other cars.
The crash, which happened around 10.30am on Sunday, sent a tyre flying metres into the air before landing near a walking path at Lake Monger.
The 18-year-old behind the wheel was freed from the wreck and treated by emergency services but couldn’t be saved.
The freeway was closed for at least five hours on Sunday as a major crash investigation was launched.
The video has now been sent to police and will form a part of the investigation into how the crash happened.
It was the second fatal crash in 24 hours, after a collision between a motorcycle and a ute on Tonkin Highway on Saturday.
The female motorcyclist, aged 61, died in hospital on Saturday night.
Major crash officers are still investigating the Mitchell Freeway fatal crash and are appealing for anyone who witnessed the rollover to report to Crime Stoppers here or by calling 1800 333 000.
Dash-cam or mobile phone vision relating to the crash can be uploaded directly to investigators here.
